Stella Orton Home Health Care Workers Overtime (Class Action)

This class action alleges that Stella Orton—a company that places home health aides and other health care workers with patients in need of in-home care—has been illegally withholding wages from over 1,200 workers throughout New York for several years.  The case is currently pending.

Mirkin et al v. Viridian Corp. (class action)

U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Case No. 3:2015-cv-01057

Our firm is a co-counsel in a class action case on behalf of the two clients and other New York consumers of Viridian Corp. who claim that they were harmed by Viridian’s unfair practices in connection with variable rate plans, which were in violation of various New York consumer protection laws. The case is currently pending.

Akramova v. RNJ Kings Food, Inc.

Our firm represents a woman who at the time of employment with a grocery store was subjected to discrimination because of her pregnancy and was paid less than the minimum wage. Our firm represents the client in federal court and before NYC Commission on Human Rights.  The minimum wage case has settled on the eve of trial with the Company paying multiple times of what was originally demanded.  The discrimination case is still pending.

Mashkovtsev v. JP Street Inc. et al.

Our firm represents a chef against his employer restaurant who skimmed the client of his wages and overtime and committed a number of other labor law violations. The case is currently pending.

Tangiyev v. Volga Transportation Corp.

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Case No. 1:14-cv-03760

Represented a former employee in connection with the employer’s failing to pay minimum wages, overtime, and agreed-upon commission, and a number of federal and state labor law violations. The case settled after several months of litigation on the term very favorable to the client.

Kravchenko v. Alex’s Discount Liquor & Wine Corporation et al.

Represented a former employee against an employer who did not pay the employee wages and overtime and violated numerous labor laws. The cases settled on favorable terms for the client shortly after a lawsuit was filed in Court.

Gorbulsky v. Praxis et al. (class action)

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Case No. 1:14-cv-03907

Our firm was a co-counsel in the representation of a client against a debt collector. The resolution of the case is confidential.

Konyukhov v. K-Square Developers Inc. et al.

Represented a former employee against an employer who did not pay the employee’s wages. The cases settled on favorable terms for the client without the need to file in Court.

Moskvitin v. Reliable Repair, Inc.

Represented a former employee in connection with his employer failing to pay him all the agreed-upon wages. The case settled on favorable terms for the client after our firm filed a lawsuit in Court.

Bilal v. Westhab, Inc.

New York State Division on Human Rights, Case No. 10173483

Represented a former employee in a disability-discrimination dispute before New York State Division on Human Rights. The parties resolved the dispute after the Division determined that there was probable cause to proceed with the investigation. The resolution of the case is confidential.

Kramer v. Emunah of America, Inc. et al.

New York County Supreme Court, Case No. 653858/2013; Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Charge No. 525-2014-00473

Represented a former employee in an age-discrimination dispute in Court and in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The parties resolved the dispute out of court. The resolution is confidential.

Fernandez v. Natures Finest Security, LLC, et al.

Represented an employee in connection with an allegedly discriminatory conduct by her employer before New York City Commission on Human Rights. The case was resolved before the Commission completed its investigation. The resolution of the case is confidential.

Malenkov v. Precision Elevator Corp. et al

Represented a client in a wrongful termination dispute after the client was terminated by the employer after having been threatened by a co-worker. Because of the employee’s collective bargaining agreement he could not go to court. Our firm strategically filed a number of complaints with various government agency and worked closely with Union lawyers representing the client in arbitration with the employer. As a result of our representation, the client was able to collect unemployment while the dispute was being resolved and then was reinstated by the employer without losing his seniority.
